Dr. Pena has wanted to be a pediatrician since she was a child. She enjoys being able to help children and their families as part of her daily dedication to providing the best possible care. Dr. Pena was born and raised in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, where she attended medical school at Universidad Autonoma de Santo Domingo, UASD. She then completed her Residency in Pediatrics at John Stroger Jr. Hospital of Cook County in Chicago.
Dr. Pena is board certified by The American Board of Pediatrics and a fellow of American Academy of Pediatrics. She is an eager believer in prevention practice and will always give encouragement and advice around cultivating safety, healthy habits and an overall healthier lifestyle.
She is a mother of a sweet and thriving two-year-old son, who fills her and her husband’s lives with so much love and joy. She not only has extensive experience in and knowledge of pediatrics, but as a mother herself, she can relate to the various feelings and emotions of being a parent.
In her free-time, Dr. Pena enjoys spending time with her family, listening to music and reading.
